Background

With over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, I’ve been passionate about fitness since a young age.

My background in boxing, where I competed in over 100 amateur bouts and traveled the world, has shaped my approach to personal training. I’ve had the privilege of training with elite athletes, gaining invaluable experience that now influences my business.

As a personal trainer in Cardiff, I’ve worked in various roles, including gym instructor, group exercise coach, and self-employed personal trainer.

Now, as the owner of multiple fitness businesses, my focus is on growing and strategically developing our operations to deliver exceptional results for our members.

While I no longer provide personal training myself, my expert team of personal trainers in Cardiff are dedicated to helping clients achieve their fitness goals.

What drives and motivates you in your role?

I’m motivated by seeing improvement and development in others. I love to see our members losing weight and improving their health and lifestyle and I’ve loved watching our coaching team develop into great coaches

It’s most definitely the people. It’s the community that makes B Fit.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

When I’m not working you’ll normally spending time with my Wife and 3 children, playing golf or watching the footy or boxing.

I think I’d probably still own a business, more than likely around marketing, or a chef.

If you’re the smartest person in the room then you’re in the wrong room. I’m a big believer in self development and continuous learning.

Mike Harrington (Fitness Manager)

Background

I’m a passionate Personal Trainer in Cardiff with over 4 years of experience and a personal story of transformation.

After battling injuries, depression, and being overweight, I turned to fitness to change my life. Since then, I’ve completed 15+ obstacle races, an ultra-marathon, and even returned to rugby at 40.

In my role as Studio Manager at B Fit, I not only work directly with clients but also lead and support our coaching team to ensure we provide top-quality training and guidance.

I’ve worked with a wide range of clients, helping them overcome physical and mental barriers to achieve their fitness goals.

Dale Davies (Head Coach)

Background

I qualified as a personal trainer in Cardiff in 2016 and have been fortunate to work with a variety of individuals, helping them achieve their personal fitness goals.

Over the past 2 years at B Fit, I’ve gained valuable experience in rehabilitating stroke survivors, building strength after life-changing surgeries, and coaching a client to a national title in powerlifting.

In addition to working with members, I’ve also been involved in helping develop our coaching team, ensuring we provide top-quality support and training. I’m excited to continue bringing my knowledge and passion to help B Fit members reach their full potential and achieve lasting success.

What’s your favourite thing about working at B Fit?

My favourite thing about working at B Fit is the sense of community from both the members and B Fit team.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

When I’m not in work I enjoy playing/recording music. Off road mountain biking and spending time with my wife and dogs.

If I wasn’t a personal trainer I would of become a session musician/music theory teacher.

Rio Silva (PERSONAL TRAINER)

Background

I’m Rio, a Personal Trainer in Cardiff, and I qualified in December 2023.

Although new to the profession, I’ve been dedicated to fitness for over 4 years. During this time, I’ve achieved personal goals such as completing the Cardiff Bay Triathlon, a 21-kilometre Spartan race, and an Ironman.

I’ve been with B Fit for over a year, and my own fitness journey shapes the way I work with clients to help them achieve their goals.

What drives and motivates you in your role?

Understanding that helping and encouraging clients towards their health and fitness goals can be life-changing. Health has a major place in improving physical health but can positively help an individual have a positive mental headspace too.

What’s your favourite thing about working at B Fit?

All the clients of BFit joined for the same reason, to have a more comfortable place to exercise where all clients and trainers encourage one another to stay active. Not all gyms have the welcoming feeling nor the want to take special care of their clients but this is where BFit excels.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

I love exercising outdoors. Hikes or Triathlon based, it’s great to make the most out of our occasional sunny weather!

Bethan Box (Client Care Co-ordinator)

Background

As the first point of contact for new members at B Fit, I ensure that everyone feels welcomed and supported as they begin their fitness journey.

Over the past 3 years, I’ve worked closely with our clients, becoming the go-to person for those who need further support. I’m committed to helping each individual achieve their fitness goals, offering guidance and encouragement every step of the way. I also work to support and keep the fitness team in check, ensuring we deliver top-quality service and maintain consistency across the board.

Before joining B Fit, I spent ten years as a Law Librarian and later worked as the E-commerce Manager for my family’s retail business. This diverse experience has given me a strong foundation in organisation, communication, and client service, which I apply every day in my role.

I am an information management and content creation professional with over twenty years of experience.

What drives and motivates you in your role?

I’ve been training with B Fit for five years, it helped me regain my confidence and my fitness after having a baby and taking some time out.

What’s your favourite thing about working at B Fit?

I really enjoy seeing people transforming their health and fitness and gaining confidence in themselves.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

I love to be by the sea. Tenby is my favourite place. I enjoy walking and wild swimming. I used to love skiing and hope to get back to that one day.
